We had a crafty creative Christmas period. Phil’s Warriors held two Christmas stalls in Cottingham, thank you to all who supported these events.
Some of our Warriors took part in Sainsbury's Big Ride 4 2016, visiting a number of stores along the 25 mile route.
An exercise bike was also in action outside the store in Cottingham.
For the third year in a row, Team Phil's Warriors have taken part in the high impact assault course Total Warrior.
A total amount will soon be announced, and all money raised will be donated to Riverside School.
We held three craft stalls in total over the festive period. Our committee put their skills to good use and began sewing, painting, glittering and glueing to create Christmas crafts.
These went down well and again we thank all our Phil’s Warriors for their continued support.
Kemps, a local gift shop in Cottingham started a collection to raise money for a Christmas light in Phil’s name to join the Cottingham Lights.
We chose a bright, white star to be hung outside Kristoff's Café and Restaurant.
We threw a MEGA Summer Bash to celebrate our first year as an established charity in July.
Lots of family, friends, sunshine and live music made it a special day. Thank you for the phenomenal support from all who attended. We raised £672.45.
On June 27th, 2016, Phil’s Warriors took part in the high impact assault course: Total Warrior© once again. We geared up for the messy fun and raised almost £1,500 through our fabulous sponsors.
Well done to all who participated, and thanks to everyone who sponsored us. This money will be donated to Riverside School.
In September, Cottingham held its annual Food & Drink Festival. Two of our Mini Warriors, Josh and Ellie Lake ran a cake stall, successfully raising over £100.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped out with the baking.
In September an 80s fancy dress night was enjoyed by many at Kristoff’s Café Bar and Restaurant. There was lots of music and dancing to 80s classics.
A charity auction was held and we raised over £500 with fabulous support from all those who attended. Special thanks to all the contributions for the auction.
Children took part in a sponsored treasure hunt around the village collecting clues along the way. Afterwards a monster buffet and spooky disco was awaiting them.

The Cottingham Day Parade 2015 was dedicated to Phil. Phil’s mum, Lisa and brother, Mike lead the procession through the village holding a banner.
Two of our Mini Warriors, Abi and Emily also held a jumble sale at their Primary School. It was a great start to our fundraising by our Mini Warriors.
During the summer George Blacklock kindly raised money for Phil’s Warriors through his local Lifestyle Project.
He got together with some of his pals, Charlie, Evie, Alex and Jake. They took part in many events, one being a sponsored walk across the Humber Bridge.
Separate from Phil's Warriors, a team of Phil’s family and friends took part in ‘Total Warrior’ a high impact assault course over 12k, to raise money for Riverside School.
This event is a very personal one linked to our charity, Phil took part in two previous Total Wariror© events and was in training to compete again. So… we did it for him!
Two football teams Phil had played for, Cottingham Rangers and Haltemprice FC held a friendly to commemorate their team mate. Thanks to the support of South Hunsley School for the use of their 3D pitch.
We presented two Phil Smith Memorial Shields, one for each team to present a player at their annual awards evenings.
Riverside Special School, where Phil worked, held an assembly for family and friends.
Some of Phil's friends and colleagues from Riverside later took part in Total Warrior© and raised over £3000, which the school then matched to enable Riverside to build an outdoor gym are in Phil's name.
In the spring of 2015 Cottingham held there annual Springboard Festival. We took part in this and had ‘Phil Smith’s Mega Music Afternoon’ at Kristoff’s.
Many local acts performed including one of Phil’s close friends Chiedu Oraka. The live music in the beer garden was enjoyed by all.
